Cookie notice
What are cookies? Cookies are small data files containing text that a website asks your device to store. Cookies are used for a variety of reasons, including enabling websites to provide functionality (like remembering that you are logged in) or enabling them to work more efficiently. Other technologies, including data we store on your web browser or device, identifiers associated with your device and other software, are used for similar purposes. Cookies served by a website operator are called “first-party cookies”. Only the website operator can access the first-party cookies it sets. Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called “third-party cookies”. Third-party cookies enable third-party features or functionality to be provided on or through the website (such as advertising, interactive content and social sharing). The parties that set these third-party cookies may be able to recognise your device both when it visits the website in question and also when it visits other websites that have partnered with the third party. Some cookies only persist on your device whilst you are visiting a website or using a service. These are known as “session” cookies. Other types of cookies can remain on your device after you have left a website or stopped using a service. These are known as “persistent” cookies. Cookies are not the only way to recognise or track visitors to a website. We may use other, similar technologies from time to time, such as web beacons (sometimes called “tracking pixels” or “clear gifs”). These are tiny graphics files that contain a unique identifier that enable us to recognise when someone has visited the Degreed site or opened an email that we have sent. This allows us, for example, to monitor the traffic patterns of users from one page within our website to another, to deliver or communicate with cookies, to understand whether you have come to our website from an online advertisement displayed on a third-party website, to improve site performance and to measure the success of email marketing campaigns. In many instances, these technologies are reliant on cookies to function properly, so declining cookies will often impair their functioning. Degreed’s use of cookies The Degreed site uses cookies when you view the site from a computer browser, a mobile browser or when using any of the Degreed browser extensions.
