C’est la question à laquelle David Blake et Eric Sharp, cofondateurs de Degreed, ont cherché à répondre lors de la création de l’entreprise en 2012. Véritable pionnière dans son domaine, Degreed révolutionne le paysage de la formation à travers le monde grâce à sa plateforme LXP de pointe. Aujourd’hui, Degreed fournit un écosystème de formation unique à 400 clients dans plus de 200 pays.

David Blake

Co-CEO / Cofounder

 

David Blake believes that learning is too important to stay the way it is and has spent his entire career innovating in higher education and lifelong learning.

 

Prior to Degreed, he helped launch a  competency-based, accredited university and was a founding team member at Zinch (acquired by Chegg NASDAQ: CHGG). David was selected as a Top EdTech Entrepreneur by the Stanford School EdTech Lab, sponsored by Teach For America and New Schools Venture Fund. David then co-founded both Learn In and BookClub.

 

In 2022 he returned as CEO of Degreed when the company acquired Learn In.

Max Wessel

Co-CEO

 

Max currently serves as Co-CEO of Degreed, the global leader in skills-first learning. Max was most recently an Executive Vice President at SAP, where he led the end-to-end SaaS transformation of SAP’s learning business. In his 12 years at SAP, Max served in leadership roles for sales operations, strategy, product development, and finance.

 

Max is a deep believer in skill building as a path to a more equitable society and remains active in the world of education. He writes and teaches on the subjects of strategy and product development, having served for eight years on the faculty of the Stanford Graduate School of Business. In addition to his role at Degreed, Max serves on the Board of Directors of ActivTrak, as an advisor to Masterclass, and as a Venture Partner at NextGen Venture Partners.

 

Max holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Northwestern University.

Sandeep Beotra

Chief Financial Officer

 

Sandeep has more than 25 years of experience in the technology, media, and telecom space—initially as an engineer and then mostly in finance as CFO, corporate development and investment banking. Most recently, he was the CFO of LG Ads (formerly Alphonso). Joining in 2016 in its early days provided an amazing founder-like experience and appreciation for all that it takes to scale a business in addition to finance—strategy, business development, investor relations, operations, and HR.

 

Previously, Sandeep led strategy, M&A, and corporate development efforts at ION Media Networks and at Richardson Electronics. He also served as Managing Director in Morgan Joseph’s TMT Investment Banking Group, where he was part of the initial team that founded Morgan Joseph.

 

Sandeep holds an MBA from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur. Having finally given up on his dream of playing cricket professionally, he is still hedging his career bets with his overenthusiastic pursuit of tennis, distance running, and gardening.

Liz Carson

Head of People

Liz Carson serves as the Head of People at Degreed, bringing more than 13 years of expertise in Human Resources and People Operations. She is dedicated to transforming organizational cultures and driving business success through a strategic focus on operational excellence and employee experience.

 

Known for her people-first philosophy, Liz believes that a company’s most valuable asset is its people. She excels at creating high-performing teams and fostering a culture that aligns with Degreed’s mission and values. Liz’s approach emphasizes the importance of putting the right talent in the right roles at the right time, ensuring that everyone is unified by shared goals and a clear vision.

 

Her commitment to Degreed’s mission of ‘jailbreaking the degree’ is reflected in her passion for continuous learning and employee development. Liz is focused on building an inclusive, innovative workplace where every employee is encouraged to grow and succeed.

Nag Chandrashekar

Chief Product and Platform Officer

 

As Chief Product and Platform Officer, Nag leads the vision and direction for Degreed’s product roadmap and product team to ensure it continues to deliver market-leading, intelligent solutions in the learning and career mobility space.

 

He has more than 15 years’ experience in technology product development and management across enterprise learning, engagement, social and mobile learning, HCM software, big data and machine learning, and app marketplaces. Prior to joining Degreed, he worked as Chief Product Officer at Atheer and founded his own company, Flype, which was acquired by Atheer.

 

He holds a Master of Science in Computer Science and Engineering from Lehigh University.

Ashley Gammie

Chief of Staff

 

Ashley Gammie is Chief of Staff to Max Wessel at Degreed. Ashley has over 10 years experience in SaaS and has been with Degreed since 2019, serving in a variety of functions during her Degreed tenure including Client Experience, Strategy and Insights, and most recently Operations.

 

Beyond her work, Ashley is a lifelong learner who enjoys expanding her knowledge and skills, including learning French and playing the fiddle on weekends. She also loves hiking in the beautiful outdoors of Boulder, Colorado, where she currently resides with her husband and three children.

 

Ashley has a BA from Wheaton College (IL).

Debora Brewer

SVP of Global Alliances & Partnerships

 

Debora Brewer is SVP for Alliances and Partnerships at Degreed, the learning platform relied on by millions of employees from hundreds of global companies to build skills for today and tomorrow. Previously, she worked as a sales leader for Degreed, Dropbox, and Solarwinds, where she opened the Latin American market and built the sales team to expand the region.

 

Passionate about new technologies, Débora is committed to helping customers build a learning culture in which professionals can develop their careers while learning how and where they want to. Débora specializes in topics related to the future of work, upskilling, and lifelong learning, and has been a speaker at events for companies like Vale, iFood, Embraer, Lojas Renner, and Alicorp. She has commented on industry trends in publications such as O Estado de S. Paulo, EFE, Você RH, and more.

Sanjay Parmar

Chief Technology Officer

 

Sanjay Parmar is the Chief Technology Officer at Degreed, leading a world-class team of engineers and overseeing application architecture, product development, quality assurance, and infrastructure, to build and scale Degreed’s AI-powered learning platform.

 

With a rich background spanning more than two decades in the enterprise SaaS domain, Sanjay’s career is a tapestry of significant achievements and innovations. He previously served as CTO at Atheer, where he played a critical role in developing the Service Operations Platform. His entrepreneurial flair was evident as co-founder and CTO of Flype Inc., which was subsequently acquired by Atheer. Sanjay’s tech journey commenced at Saba, where he evolved from a foundational team member to Vice President of Technology and Product, leading the creation of an award-winning talent management platform.

 

His passion extends beyond technology and into creating high-caliber teams and corporate cultures. He is devoted to crafting products that resolve customer challenges and make a greater impact. His drive for constant improvement and customer-focused solutions are central to his philosophy. At Degreed, Sanjay continues to spearhead innovation, shaping the future of learning technologies.

Todd Tauber

SVP of Marketing

 

Todd leads Degreed’s Marketing team. His thought leadership on workforce learning and development (L&D) has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Quartz, and The Atlantic as well as by Chief Learning Officer, SHRM, and ATD.

 

Before Degreed, Todd led the enterprise learning practice at Bersin, Deloitte’s human capital research business. He also helped bring Nomadic Learning, a pioneer in digital academies, to market. And he launched a new corporate learning offering at global news publisher, The Economist, where he also led strategy, M&A, and product development.

 

Todd has an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BBA from The George Washington University.

Michelle Vock Laboy

Chief of Staff

Michelle Vock Laboy is the Chief of Staff to the CEO at Degreed. She is a an enthusiastic, curious, and driven revenue and customer experience leader working previously at IBM, Andela, and Learn In (acquired by Degreed).

Michelle loves building companies and helping clients successfully achieve critical business outcomes in partnership with software and services solutions. She has a collaborative approach and has worked with executives worldwide across various industries and company sizes. She’s always ready to dive into a conversation about sales, customer success and experience, leadership, the EdTech industry, or the best hikes in the world.
