C’est la question à laquelle David Blake et Eric Sharp, cofondateurs de Degreed, ont cherché à répondre lors de la création de l’entreprise en 2012. Véritable pionnière dans son domaine, Degreed révolutionne le paysage de la formation à travers le monde grâce à sa plateforme LXP de pointe. Aujourd’hui, Degreed fournit un écosystème de formation unique à 400 clients dans plus de 200 pays.

David Blake

Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder

 

David Blake believes that learning is too important to stay the way it is and has spent his entire career innovating in higher education and lifelong learning. Prior to Degreed, he helped launch a  competency-based, accredited university and was a founding team member at Zinch (acquired by Chegg NASDAQ: CHGG). David was selected as a Top EdTech Entrepreneur by the Stanford School EdTech Lab, sponsored by Teach For America and New Schools Venture Fund. David then co-founded both Learn In and BookClub. In 2022 he returned as CEO of Degreed when the company acquired Learn In.

Max Wessel

President

 

Max currently serves as President of Degreed, the global leader in skills-first learning. Max was most recently an Executive Vice President at SAP, where he led the end-to-end SaaS transformation of SAP’s Learning business. In his 12 years at SAP, Max served in leadership roles in sales operations, strategy, product development, and finance.

 

Max is a deep believer in skill building as a path to a more equitable society and remains active in the world of education. He writes and teaches on the subjects of strategy and product development, having served for eight years on the faculty of the Stanford Graduate School of Business. In addition to his role at Degreed, Max serves on the Board of Directors of ActivTrak, as an advisor to Masterclass, and as a Venture Partner at NextGen Venture Partners.

 

Max holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Northwestern University.

Nathan Kimmons

Chief Revenue Officer

As Chief Revenue Officer, Nate is responsible for the company’s growth and go-to-market strategy with a focus on scaling Degreed globally. Nate was COO of Degreed before leaving to be CEO of Learn In (acquired by Degreed in June 2022). He also led the acquisition of Pathgather during his initial time at Degreed. Nate has over 15 years of experience in learning SaaS. Alongside his nearly decade-long time at Degreed, Nate was VP of Strategy & Operations and co-lead the Enterprise business of Lynda.com which was bought by LinkedIn for $1.5B. Previous to that he held Senior Management positions at several other venture-backed businesses, Jobs2Web (bought by SuccessFactors), Iconoculture (bought by Corporate Executive Board), and Techies.com.

 

Outside of work, you’ll catch Nate traveling aboard, at a winery, or endlessly pursuing his quest to see The Dave Matthews Band 100 times, currently at 87.

 

Born and raised in Minnesota, he now lives just outside of Park City, UT. Nate attended both the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities and Concordia University, St. Paul.

Nag Chandrashekar

Chief Product and Platform Officer

 

As Chief Product Officer, Nag leads the vision and direction for Degreed’s product roadmap and product team to ensure it continues to deliver market-leading, intelligent solutions in the LXP and career mobility space. He has over 15 years’ experience in technology product development and management, across enterprise learning, engagement, social and mobile learning, HCM software, big data and machine learning, and app marketplaces. Prior to joining Degreed, he worked as Chief Product Officer at Atheer and founded his own company, Flype, which was acquired by Atheer. He holds a Master of Science in Computer Science and Engineering from Lehigh University.

Deeps Ramanathan

Chief Marketing Officer

 

Deeps Ramanathan is the CMO of Degreed and Learn In, a global marketing executive, board member and startup advisor. Deeps’ journey, from engineer to marketer to founder across digital media, advertising, technology, and education industries, has reinforced his belief that given the right learning opportunities and support anyone can reach further. He built and led marketing teams in the US, Asia Pacific and Europe for almost a decade at Google, 8 years at IBM and 2 years at Twitter. He was Co-founder and Chief Product Officer of a venture and Y Combinator-backed education technology startup. Deeps has an MBA majoring in Marketing & Strategy and Masters of Engineering. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Deeps enjoys exploring new hiking trails, getting behind his favorite cricket and rugby teams, and watching reruns of 90’s sitcoms.

Nicole Williams

Chief Operating Officer

 

As the Chief Operating Officer of Degreed, Nicole is responsible for ensuring efficiency, revenue growth, scalability, and alignment with strategic goals – with a keen focus on enhancing Degreed’s market presence and continuing its customer-centric approach. She initially joined Degreed in 2022 as the SVP of Revenue Operations and before this, she was the SVP of Revenue Strategy at Docebo. She also led Global Strategy and Enablement at Cornerstone, serving as the go-to-market functional integration lead for its $1.3bn Saba acquisition.

Known for her collaborative approach, Nicole excels in fostering collaboration across different functions and teams to drive cohesive and integrated strategies. With a proven ability to lead and manage change, Nicole ensures smooth transitions and adaptation to new initiatives within organizations. She is passionate about providing strategic direction and aligning business objectives with operational efficiency to drive sustained growth.

Her career began in investment banking and asset management. She has over 15 years of experience in this field, including serving as the Global Head of Capital Markets at AllianceBernstein in NYC, managing the buy-side global equity syndicate business. Prior she spent years in Equity Capital Markets at both Deutsche Bank and Credit Suisse.

Originally from Manhattan Beach, California, Nicole holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Psychology from Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania. She was a Division I athlete, contributing to the Women’s Volleyball Team in the Patriot League. Nicole currently resides outside Austin with her husband, Dan, and their two sons, Ben (17) and Matt (15).

Outside of work, Nicole enjoys exploring new cities and local restaurants. She is also a dedicated dog parent to Zion and Zoro.

Sandeep Beotra

Chief Financial Officer

 

Sandeep has over 25 years of experience in the technology, media and telecom space – initially as an engineer and then mostly in finance as CFO, corporate development and investment banking. Most recently, he was the CFO of LG Ads (fka Alphonso) having joined in 2016 in its early days which provided an amazing founder like experience and appreciation for all that it takes to scale a business – strategy, business development, investor relations, operations, HR in addition to finance. Previously, Sandeep led strategy, M&A and corporate development efforts at ION Media Networks and at Richardson Electronics before that. Prior to that, he was Managing Director in Morgan Joseph’s TMT Investment Banking Group, where he was part of the initial team that founded Morgan Joseph. Sandeep holds an MBA from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur. Having finally given up on his dream of playing cricket professionally, he is still hedging his career bets by his overenthusiastic pursuit of tennis, distance running and gardening.

Janice Robinson Burns

Chief Transformation Officer

 

As a human capital futurist and strategist, Janice Robinson Burns develops and implements talent management and development programs that drive business results. She joined Degreed as their first Chief Career Experience Officer in 2020, becoming its Chief People Officer in 2021 and Chief Transformation Officer in 2023. Prior to Degreed, Janice spent 28 years at Mastercard, with her most recent role as their Chief Learning Officer. As CLO, she led the design and implementation of employee learning experiences and development programs globally, as well as development of frameworks to advance managerial capabilities and effectiveness. Prior to the CLO role, Janice served as Group Head of Human Resources for the Globadel Products and Solutions organization and Chief Diversity Officer of Mastercard. She earned a Master’s degree in Public Administration from New York University and a Bachelor’s degree from Wesleyan University.

Sanjay Parmar

Chief Technology Officer

Sanjay Parmar is the Chief Technology Officer at Degreed, leading a world-class team of engineers overseeing application architecture, product development, quality assurance, and infrastructure, to build and scale Degreed’s AI-powered learning platform.

With a rich background spanning over two decades in the enterprise SaaS domain, Sanjay’s career is a tapestry of significant achievements and innovations. He previously served as CTO at Atheer, where he played a critical role in developing the Service Operations Platform. His entrepreneurial flair was evident as co-founder and CTO of Flype Inc., which was subsequently acquired by Atheer. Sanjay’s tech journey commenced at Saba, where he evolved from a foundational team member to Vice President of Technology and Product, leading the creation of an award-winning talent management platform.

His passion extends beyond technology to the essence of creating high-caliber teams and corporate cultures. He is devoted to crafting products that resolve customer challenges, leveraging technology for greater impact. His drive for constant improvement and customer-focused solutions are central to his philosophy. At Degreed, Sanjay continues to spearhead innovation, shaping the future of learning technologies.

Annee Bayeux

Chief Learning Strategist

 

Annee has 20+ years in L&D, M&A, Talent and HR Technologies with Global 2000 companies such as Bosch Automotive, Alstom, General Electric and Danone. She has led learning design and shared services organizations including building group-level HR centers of expertise around design, digital transformation and HR technology. She has held HR leadership roles in L&D as the CLO of Danone and head of HR Process & Tools at GE and most recently was the Chief Learning Strategist at EdCast. Obsessed with innovation and new technology impacts on society, she now prefers to spend her time evangelising about the Future of Work and “smart work culture” to anyone who will listen. She is secretly afraid of robots taking over the world while (ironically) awaiting the singularity with impatience.
